Two Free Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks

This week, there are two Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks that are free.  One, Brownie and Bar Recipes, has been free for a long time, but this week they added Burger Recipes for free too.  If you like these free books, check out Gooseberry Patch's other cookbooks for NOOK.  They have cookbooks in different prices for people with all budgets.  I think Savory Pie Recipes for $.99 is one of my favorites along with Christmas With Family and Friends, which is $10.21 currently.  I have the links for the free books below.  Remember to check the prices before you buy since prices can change at anytime.  If the given price is any amount but free, than it is not free.

Walk Away the Pounds $2.99

If you want to start a new exercise routine, Leslie Sandstone has a great book at a great price to get you started.  Walk Away the Pounds: The Breakthrough 6-Week Program That Helps You Burn Fat, Tone Muscle, and Feel Good Without Dieting is currently $2.99.  Leslie Sandstone has been helping people get into shape and stay in shape for over two decades.  She starred in many workout videos, including Christian workout videos, and has written books that deal with how easy it is to start a fitness routine by simply walking.  With this price it is not only easy to get into shape, but cheap too.

Remember to check the price before you buy because prices can change at any time.  Since I don't work for Barnes and Noble, I cannot guarantee how long the price will stay so low on this book.  I provided a link to the book below for the book.

"The Vow" Free Book from NOOK for Web

Today, Barnes and Noble announced they have a new way to read NOOK books called NOOK for Web. You can read NOOK books on your computer without having to download software and take up precious memory space.  They are also offering six free NOOK books at the NOOK for Web website.  The really good news is that the free books from NOOK for Web also download to your NOOK eReader, although some users said it took up to an hour for them to transfer.

Barnes and Noble picked out six books from different genres, so readers should be able to enjoy at least one of the books.  From the Christian Market, they chose The Vow by Kim and Krickitt Carpenter.

Getting these books are a little different than purchasing the normal NOOK books from the Barnes and Noble website.  You need to go to the NOOK for Web website to get these books.  If you go to, you will be charged for them.  You can click on the link here to get to the correct website.

Next you need to scroll down to the individual pictures of the six books they are offering for free.  Click on the one you want.  In this case, click on The Vow to bring up a new window, and a sample of the book will appear.  You will notice in the upper right-hand corner, there is a white button that says "NOOK Book $0.00."  Click on that button (Note:  if the button has a price other than $0.00, they will charge you that price for the book).  If you are not signed in, Barnes and Noble will ask you to sign in with your account (or make a new one if this is your first purchase from Barnes and Noble).  Then you will confirm that you want to buy that NOOK book.  It's that easy.  Buy all six or just the ones you want to read.

Now you will be able to read these and other previously purchased NOOK books on your PC without taking up space.  What is really neat is that if you read something on your computer, you can keep reading it on your NOOK device as long as your device is Wi-Fi enabled.  It will keep track of where you left off (well, mine was a page behind where I left off, but it was close enough for my taste).

It's a little work for a free book today, but I am very excited about having NOOK for Web.  Note that these NOOK books are being offered only until July 26, 2012.  So hurry and get them.

Free Books for NOOK

It's been quiet around here lately.  There have been no free Christian books, and I've been enjoying the heat wave with my family. I hope you have found a way to stay cool.  But today there are a few Christian NOOK books for free, and some of the book descriptions sound very intriguing.  Remember to check the price before you download, because prices will sometimes change without warning.

Free Nonfiction Book

Today I found the book His Healing Hands by Warren Frankel, MD for free on the NOOK.  Dr. Frankel shares stories of his short term mission trips around the world with an organization called His Healing Hands. I haven't read it yet, but it sounds very good.  These books are free for an unknown period of time, so check the price before you download.

Free Nonfiction NOOK Book "Indescribable" by Matt Redman and Louie Giglio

One free book today, Indescribable: Encountering  the Glory of God in the Beauty of the Universe by Louie Giglio and Matt Redman.  The overview by Barnes and Noble states about the book:  "Putting this powerful message into print for the first time, visionary pastor Louie Giglio and songwriter Matt Redman team up to write a heart-stirring book about the mysteries of God’s creation. Indescribable takes readers on a journey through the vastness of outer space and into the depths of the soul. Modern science allows viewers to see farther into space than ever before, and every step draws them closer to the God who breathed each star into existence. InIndescribable, the authors intertwine devotional insights with remarkable scientific facts that awaken both mind and spirit. As Giglio and Redman write, God turnswonderers into worshipers. Above all, Indescribable is a call to worship—an invitation to know and be known by the God of all creation and to become more passionate worshipers of Jesus Christ."

Be sure to get this book quickly; it won't be free forever.  Perhaps not after today, so check the price before you download it.
